Hi, I’m Dr. Marianne!
I am passionate about helping you work past any food or body image issues that keep you from enjoying your life in San Diego or anywhere in California, Texas, and Washington D.C.. I am originally from Denver, Colorado, I went to graduate school in Texas, and I have fallen in love with San Diego. Whether you were born and raised here, or whether you are a transplant- it feels like this city makes the way that your body looks in a bathing suit feel a LOT more important. A walk on the beach can be so amazing and peaceful. If the way your body feels is in the way of you enjoying your toes in the sand, I can help.
I have a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Marriage and Family Therapy from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California #87667, Texas #5209, and Washington D.C. #200001328
I also have Master’s Degree (M.MFT) in Marriage and Family Therapy from Abilene Christian University in Abilene, Texas.
I was in academia full-time for 12 years at Alliant International University's marriage and family therapy program in Scripps Ranch, San Diego.
I hold membership in:
California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT)

Through these organizations, I not only receive updates on cutting-edge research on couples, families, and eating disorders, I have attended conferences in San Diego, California, Texas, and Washington D.C. (and elsewhere!) to present my own research in spirituality in marriage and family therapy, and spirituality and eating disorders. I often receive advanced training in San Diego via these organizations and others, such as UCSD's Eating Disorder Center, Center for Discovery (San Diego eating disorder treatment facility), and Eating Recovery Center (Denver eating disorder treatment facility).
