Hi everyone! I’ve interviewed San Diego eating disorder therapist extraordinaire Danielle Hiestand, PsyD, LMFT, CEDS. Danielle is a BRILLIANT woman who was one of my top doctoral students when I was an academic. She has been in the eating disorder field for a long time, and she has worked in residential, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and outpatient levels of treatment.
Danielle has also taught undergraduate and graduate classes on eating disorders at University of California San Diego (UCSD) and Alliant International University. In the past few years, Danielle has added trauma specialist to her repertoire and has extensive knowledge about dissociation and how to treat it. I’m so excited that you get to read more about her approach to therapy!!!

Neurofeedback and EMDR are becoming increasingly prevalent in eating disorder treatment in San Diego and elsewhere. Cyndi Pulsinelli, LMFT, is a San Diego eating disorder therapist who is also the clinical advisor for Center for Discovery’s Del Mar Outpatient eating disorder treatment center. In this post, Cyndi shares about her background, as well as the work that she is doing with neurofeedback and EMDR at Center for Discovery. Eating disorders are incredibly complex, so it’s important to explore various treatment options to find the ones that are right for you. Neruofeedback and EMDR can be effective strategies to supplement and enhance eating disorder treatment. Introducing Center for Discovery Eating Disorder Therapist Christine Capuano, APCC
Happy Friday, everyone! I want to introduce you to Christine Capuano, APCC (associate professional clinical counselor). She is a San Diego eating disorder therapist who works for Center for Discovery’s (CFD) partial hospitalization program (PHP) and intensive outpatient program (IOP) in Del Mar. Christine is a very talented therapist who does great individual, family, and group work. She also works part-time in a private practice in La Mesa, California.
